Tøihuset

Military building in one floor with high loft in the southern part of the Fortress City. It is listed in the structure and later forblendet with stone bricks. The building has three wings with facades to Tøihusgaten, Raadhusgaten and Laboraoriegata. The outer walls provides an overall length of not less than 530 m. In Kirkegatens extension, it is crawling through the longest wing. Its portal to the Laboratoriegaten is carrying Christian VII s monogram and year 1775. Besides the depot for military effects include T. today also large dining room.

Old town Fredrikstad

In the Tøihus you will find both Fredrikstad City Museum and the Tourist Information office. The flea market every Saturday on the town square is well worth a visit!
