International Projects

"Highway of Culture" is our international network that creates exchange projects with artists from other countries and cultures.

Poland
The international project “Next Stop – Art Close to People / Następna Stacja – Sztuka blisko Ludzi” is realised by the „Pocztówka” Cultural Association from Poland (the leader) and Studium Actoris from Norway (the partner). Its span is 16 months (1 September 2020 to 31 December 2021).
The general goal of the project is to improve access to theatre and to culture for as wide an audience as possible, including marginalised groups, as well as to improve the audience’s competence. This will be accomplished thanks to international cooperation of artists and by including the environment into the debate, which is to say – local government, minorities, schools and non-governmental organisations.
Specific goals of the project are as follows:
– create an innovative show available to a wide public;
– develop artistic cooperation between the „Poczówka” Association from Poland and Studium Actoris from Norway;
– increase the competence of the „Pocztówka” Association and other Polish entities regarding the culture industry;
– implement a cultural entrepreneurship strategy and an audience development strategy;
– to bring two towns – Hajnówka, Poland and Fredrikstad, Norway closed together and to establish an international partnership between the two;
– increase the activity of Hajnówka Central, Cultural Station as a centre of artistic, educational, social and volunteer activity.

The goal and result of this will be to strengthen the cultural development and contribute to tourism to the city of Bayamo in Cuba. In collaboration with the County Culture Office in Granma (CU), Visit Fredrikstad and Hvaler, Østfold University College and the initiator Studium Actoris.

Italy
"Integrated - disintegrated" is a project in collaboration with the Italian ensemble Teatro due Mondi from Faenza that addresses and wants to explore and get involved in the growing radicalization of young people. This workshop with a closing performance brings together different young people with different ethnicities, political opinions and religious backgrounds to discuss different topics. This discussion will be closely followed by artists from Studium Actoris and Teatro due Mondi who based on this will suggest the creation of various artistic expressions.

USA
"A dream of milk and honey" is a celebration of history and the benefits of cultural exchange between USA and Norway.
The idea is to have students from both USA and Norway create a film together using stop motion animation. Through this medium they will learn about the historical aspects of the Norwegian/American emigration/immigration past and present, this in turn will act as a mirror to the modern experience of immigration/emigration world wide and create insights about the world around us.
A project between Studium Actoris, E6 Medieverksted in Fredrikstad, Teatro due Mondi from Italy and Vesterheim, the US National Norwegian-American Museum and Folk Art School in Decorah, Iowa.
